This is an exciting opportunity to take the next step in your career in an organisation passionate and committed to providing Aboriginal business engagement opportunities throughout our infrastructure projects.

As the Senior Advisor Aboriginal Business Engagement at Main Roads you will work as part of the Finance and Commercial Services team to support us in achieving our commitment. You will provide an advisory service on all facets of Aboriginal business engagement for Main Roads, and it’s portfolio partners on projects delivered by Main Roads Western Australia and/or the Office for Major Transport Infrastructure Delivery. You will act as a point of contact for the delivery of works and supply of goods and services to Main Roads locations across the State.

We currently have three (3) Senior Advisor Aboriginal Business Engagement opportunities that we are seeking to fill on a permanent basis.

About You

This is an important and exciting role for a professional with substantial experience in business engagement. We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Strong business and stakeholder engagement skills, particularly with Aboriginal communities and businesses
  • An in depth understanding of social norms and protocols when interacting with Aboriginal people
  • Previous proven experience in delivering outcomes and promoting Aboriginal businesses, and
  • Well-developed presentation skills and ability to influence and negotiate with a variety of stakeholders.

At Main Roads, we service the WA community in both regional and metropolitan localities and as such, it is important to us that we continue to support Aboriginal business in projects local to them. To help us do this, the Senior Advisor Aboriginal Business Engagement must be willing to travel intrastate to work with Aboriginal communities and Main Roads regional offices throughout Western Australia.

  • Presentation, influencing and negotiation.
  1. A copy of your current Western Australian motor vehicle (car) Driver’s Licence or approved equivalent.

All selection criteria listed in the Job Role Statement will be assessed throughout the selection process with equal weighting.
