Useless Loop Primary School (PS) are seeking a dedicated, adaptable, and motivated Primary Teacher for a Year 3-6 mixed aged class to join their friendly team.

Useless Loop PS is a small, high achieving remote school like no other. It is surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery situated within a national park and a marine heritage area. The school is in a closed town adjacent to the Shark Bay Resources salt mine and the school services the students from families working on the mine site. We qualify for many remote teaching incentives including free GROH housing, exemption from utilities plus remote concessions.
The successful applicant will be a dynamic, passionate, highly motivated and community minded educator with the ability to provide high quality explicit teaching and learning programs to meet the needs of our students. Experience or willingness to undertake training in Talk4Writing, Teach Well or KSP, PLD, Sounds Write and Spelling Mastery is preferred but not essential. Experience in digital technology and the application of technology in the classroom is also desirable.
Applicants should have an excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and be able to deliver content in an engaging manner. You will have excellent interpersonal skills to develop effective relationships with students, staff, and parents. An awareness of the Cultural Standards Framework and culturally responsive engagement is invaluable in providing an enriched, supportive, and engaging classroom environment with a focus on improving student outcomes.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment.
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement.
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement.
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
