About the Role

The Bushfire Centre of Excellence (BCoE) is a hub for training, knowledge and engagement in bushfire management. The Centre is the first of its kind in Australia and is located in Nambeelup at the Shire of Murray’s Peel Business Park.

This position forms part of the training delivery team, facilitating training and assessment across a range of bushfire management courses. In addition, the role contributes to development of bushfire training through sharing their subject matter expertise or engaging with others in the bushfire sector to draw on their expertise.

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about best practice and innovation in bushfire, and sharing their knowledge with a large variety of bushfire partners. We need great communicators and facilitators, with strong initiative and openness to new ways of delivering training while supporting development of new training products in bushfire. You’ll bring diverse experiences across both planned burning as well as bushfire suppression and be reflective of our bushfire sector.

Employment Conditions and Additional Information

DFES is an emergency services organisation, and all employees may be required to work or travel outside of normal business hours to assist with emergencies.

The successful candidate will be required to work from the BCoE and may be required to work or travel outside of normal business hours to deliver training.

This position will also fulfil an on-call rostered position.
