We are the Mechanical Engineering Branch and we provide rollingstock engineering support to both the State’s electric and diesel existing passenger fleets. We are also supporting the introduction of the State’s brand new C-series electric fleet and Australind diesel fleet, as well as investigating new rail technologies.
This is where you come into play. We are seeking to establish a pool of suitably qualified Electrical Engineers.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a highly motivated team player with an electrical engineering background to support the team with rolling stock modifications, commissioning activities, and R&D projects. No day will be the same given our operational requirements as the State’s public transport provider, so an agile approach to the way you tackle our work is desirable.
To be successful in this position, you are required to possess a Degree in Engineering (Electrical) or suitable experience and expertise in Electrical Engineering relating to rollingstock. You will have proven experience in electrical maintenance and an understanding of Western Australian Electricity Regulations and Australian Standards and sound management skills including the ability to provide clear advice, direction and appropriate feedback to multi-disciplinary project teams.
This is a permanent appointment on a full time basis of 37.5 hours or 40 hours per week. You must be in possession of a current WA ‘C’ or ‘C-A’ class Driver’s Licence or equivalent.
Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool for 12 months from which permanent and fixed term appointments will be made.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur for up to 12 months.
