The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the newly created position of Operational Systems Support Officer. This position sits within the Information Management and Operational Systems Division and reports directly to the Operational Systems Team Leader. The winning candidate will ensure the availability, operation, installation and maintenance of operational infrastructure will meet customer needs in an effective and efficient manner. The incumbent will provide technical and maintenance support of Windows, VMware and NIX operating systems. They will monitor the availability and performance of operational servers and systems, including PC security and assisting with data storage capacity across all platforms.
To be successful in this position you must have:
- Considerable recent experience in a technology role managing operational systems and infrastructure.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in:
- The installation, administration and problem resolution of relevant server, network, information, security, operating system and personal computer technologies
- Demonstrated problem and analysis and support in service administration.
- Modern network, hardware and software standards.
There is one 3 year fixed term, full time appointment available for an immediate start. Applicants must have the ability to work extended and unsociable hours and be ‘on call’ when required; have the ability to work at moderate heights; and occasionally work and travel to country areas.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur for up to 12 months.
