Marri Grove Primary School (PS) is looking for an experienced School Officer to join their team.
As a School Officer you will assist with the day-to-day running of the front office as well as various communications with staff in relation to the school's operations. You will ideally have good communication and interpersonal skills to provide a high level of leadership and management and will be responsible for the implementation and development of operational processes, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and Departmental policies and guidelines with regards to student enrolment, transfers between schools and local intake area and surrounds.
Ideally the successful applicant will be experienced in using Schools Information System (SIS) Administration, RM Billing, Human Resources Management Information System (HRMIS), Compass, MS Office suite of programs and websites. A focus on teamwork, self-motivation, initiative, excellence in customer service delivery and administrative support is highly desirable. The ability to work under supervision, or independently is also important in this role. The successful applicant will ideally possess strong organisational skills in delivering and prioritising tasks when under pressure and have an eye for detail and a high level of accuracy.
You should model effective and quality customer and administrative support service delivery and be able to work in collaboration with the administration team, school support staff, our school community and teaching staff. In this role, your duties will include assisting the Manager Corporate Services in the daily financial aspects of the school. The successful applicant will coordinate financial tasks including processing of electronic funds transfer (EFT) payment batches, invoicing, cash management, managing assets, assisting with budgeting, and performing all aspects of end of month bank reconciliation, including budget modifications.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- experience in providing effective administrative support with the ability to organise and prioritise tasks effectively.
- experience in financial processes and procedures, including the handling of debtors, creditors, reconciliations, and /or preparing financial returns.
- ability in using computers and a range of application software packages, particularly databases, spreadsheets and word processing.
- good verbal and written communication skills and experience in the application of customer service principles and practices.
- good interpersonal skills and ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment.

Eligibility and training requirements
Employees will be required to:
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
