The Opportunity:
As a valued member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to work collaboratively with Aboriginal groups and organisations on cultural resource management projects.
These exciting new roles will be instrumental in implementing the new Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Act 2021, including working with Aboriginal organisations and other key stakeholders across multiple sectors. The Act provides a modern framework for the recognition, protection, conservation and preservation of Aboriginal cultural heritage and recognises the fundamental importance of Aboriginal cultural heritage to Aboriginal people.
On-the-job training is available to help you develop your skills and have the support you need to thrive in your role.
We currently have five permanent positions, in the Kimberley (Broome or Kununurra), Pilbara (Karratha), Goldfields (Kalgoorlie), Mid-West (Geraldton) and South West (Bunbury or Albany). Skills and Experience:
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of cultural heritage.
- Demonstrated experience in understanding, interpreting, and applying heritage legislation.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills demonstrating ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and negotiate with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to prepare and present information clearly to a wide variety of stakeholders.

Special Requirements for this position:

To be eligible for a permanent appointment to the Western Australian public sector it is essential that you are an Australian citizen or have permanent residency status in Australia.
With travel required throughout the region you will need a driver’s licence.
