About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the newly created position of Workplace Trainer & Assessor – Infrastructure Control.  This position sits within the Network & Infrastructure division and reports directly to the Manager Infrastructure Control.  The responsibilities for this role include planning, developing, delivering and reviewing technical training and competencies, assessments and associated material specific (including on the job coaching and support) to the Infrastructure Control function, in liaison with the relevant stakeholders.  The incumbent will also maintain competency standards to meet regulatory obligations and develop and review procedures.  The winning candidate will identify and recommend appropriate training to ensure Infrastructure Control employees are competent to required standards and in accordance with relevant work procedures.  They will plan and deliver training and coordinate the delivery of training programs, including assessments for Infrastructure Control employees and any other associated staff.

About You

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent qualification or ability to achieve the qualification within an agreed timeframe.
  • Considerable relevant experience in both Electrical and Fire Safety functions of Infrastructure Control within an operational environment.
  • Competent to be considered a Subject Matter Expert for the purposes of training for Infrastructure Control related tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor and develop others.
  • Working knowledge or the Rail Safety legislation and standards.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills including a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences and to build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

There is one full time, permanent position available for an immediate start.  Applicants must have availability for shift work and/or weekend work as required to a 24 hour/7 day a week roster, including call outs if necessary OR ability to work some flexible hours (weekends and nights) as required.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur for up to 12 months.
