Office of Major Transport Infrastructure Delivery (OMTID)

You will be working in the Division responsible for delivering the METRONET’s high value and high complex major transport projects. As one of the largest single investments in public transport the city has seen, METRONET will help positively change how people live and travel in Perth.

About the Role

We are seeking applications from suitably experienced candidates to fill the role of Project Commissioning Manager.  The winning applicant will provide specialised commissioning expertise to projects as assigned.  They will lead and manage major public transport system infrastructure construction, commissioning and integration activities under the control of the OMTID for the PTA.  The incumbent will provide specialist advice to the project team on engineering assurance processes, construction, integration, rail access requirements, commissioning, Entry into Service, handover and acceptance of core systems related to rail communications – signalling and overhead line equipment systems, HV systems, tunnel systems and station systems for Major Transport Infrastructure Projects.

About You

To be successful in this role you will be:

  • Highly experienced in the commissioning of major public transport system infrastructure in an operational electrified rail environment.
  • Considerable understanding of engineering assurance, quality and rail safety systems.
  • High level project management skills, including implementing rigorous processes and controls, and completion of a complex project on time and on budget.
  • Experienced in managing the commissioning, handover and acceptance of rail systems, HV systems, tunnel systems and station systems.
  • Highly developed leadership skills, including a high level of initiative, the ability to manage the impact of change in the workplace, people management and team building skills.

This is a 3-year fixed term appointment with a possibility of extension and/or permanency and is available for an immediate start. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur for up to 12 months.
