Muludja RCS was opened in 1991. It is situated within Muludja Community, 35 km east of Fitzroy Crossing, Western Australia. The community is situated on the flood plains adjacent to the Margaret River. It is 5 km from Fossil Downs Station homestead, which is situated on the other side of the river. The first language is Kriol and the local language is Gooniyandi. Standard Australian English is the children’s second language.
Ngalapita RCS first opened its doors on December 1, 2003. The name for the school comes from a nearby billabong which is central to the lives of the Aboriginal people, who, apart from the teachers, make up this community. The school experiences seasonal flooding from October through to April and during these times the MCS is required to assist the principal with the organisation of supplies to the school during these times. The student cohort is between 10 and 25, though itinerant students add to the population on a seasonal basis. Walmajarri is the traditional language of the members of this community.
