Piara Waters Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a passionate and dedicated Mathematics Teacher to join their welcoming team.
Working in collaboration with other staff, the successful applicant will ideally have a strong understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum – including the knowledge of how to plan, deliver and assess, resulting in high levels of student engagement, progress and achievement.
The successful applicant will ideally be committed to supporting the development of programs that are relevant, engaging and cater for the learning of all students. They will work collaboratively with all staff and the broader school community to create conditions where high expectations and high quality teaching thrive. The successful applicant should support the development of positive social relationships and utilise the flexible learning spaces within our learning environment to personalise learning for students thereby creating an environment which fosters curiosity, enhances creativity and engenders critical thinking.
Teachers who can create a learning environment that is differentiated, challenging, caring, and creative and that caters for the range of needs so all students may achieve and progress are strongly encouraged to apply. As a foundation school, the ability of staff to be flexible and adaptable in line with changing conditions is important. The ability to teach in other areas is highly desirable.

Piara Waters SHS is situated in the beautifully landscaped suburb of Piara Waters, approximately 25kms south of Perth. The school is surrounded by luscious greenery and will form part of the vibrant, multicultural community of Piara Waters. The school commenced with Year 7 students in 2023, adding each year to its growing cohort, until it reaches Year 12 in 2028.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
