Appointment Pool
Maida Vale Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Kindergarten to Year 6 (K-6) Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2023 school year and up to the end of Term 3, 2024. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements from Term 4, 2023 up to the end of Term 3, 2024.
Suitable applicants will ideally be self-reflective practitioners who are committed to building a culture of professional growth and improvement. They should be committed to gather, analyse and assess system, whole-school and classroom-based student achievement data in order to make evidence-based decisions about teaching practice, with a relentless focus on improving outcomes for all students. Applicants are therefore encouraged to show how they use high expectations of behavioural and academic achievement as well as differentiation strategies within whole class instruction to engage students with disabilities and challenging behaviours.
Suitable applicants should also be able to display exemplary student-centred, evidence-based teaching practices that result in high levels of achievement and progress for all students. Our whole of school approaches ensure that every student acquires the core literacy and numeracy skills, as well as the knowledge and attitudes to become confident and competent future focused learners.
At Maida Vale PS we believe in a consistent, collaborative and explicit whole-school approach to teaching. Knowledge and experience in Explicit Direct Instruction, the Science of Reading, Positive Behaviour Schools (PBS) Heggerty, Sounds-Write and Talk 4 Writing will be a distinct advantage.
Maida Vale PS is an Independent Public School catering for approximately 440 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. We pride ourselves on creating a warm, welcoming, learning environment that is focused on excellence. Our purpose is to be a 'collaborative, supportive and empowering learning community'.
