About the Role

An exciting position has become available within our Transport Portfolio Land and Property Services (TPLPS) which is a consolidation of the Transport portfolio’s land administration and property management functions.

The Native Title and Land Assembly Manager will be responsible for the management and coordination of matters relating to accessing land across transport portfolio infrastructure projects and associated works within the legislative environment of The State of Western Australia and the Native Title Act 1993.

In addition, you will contribute to the negotiation and preparation of Indigenous Land Use Agreements (ILUA’s) and other agreements, along with developing policy and procedures to ensure compliance with the legal requirements for Native Title Future Acts for Transport Projects. As part of your responsibilities, you will be required to manage the coordination of complex land assembly activities for transport related projects and provide land access and land tenure advice to Project Managers and other stakeholders.

Your ability to build and maintain key stakeholder relationships is pivotal to the success of transport projects as the role requires extensive interaction with other government agencies,

landowners, occupiers and interest holders.

 About You

To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated comprehensive experience to deliver in the following areas:

  • Native Title: provide specialist advice to key stakeholders and manage the application of Native Title legislation in regard to access and administration of land matters in accordance with Native Title Act 1993 and Land Administration Act 1997.
  • Land Assembly: management and coordination of complex Land Assembly activities for transport related projects
  • Leadership and Management: provide leadership and manage a range of  financial, technological and physical resources, in addition to overseeing employee behaviour, performance and development.
  • Stakeholder Relationships: lead and promote professional working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Contract Management: engage and manage specialist technical consultants and contractors to assist in the determination of land requirements and prepare tender and contract documentation.
