Development Officer

Specified Calling Level 3 I Permanent - Full Time

The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) leads the sustainable development of Western Australia’s regions and agriculture, aquaculture, food and fisheries sectors. In everything we do, we take an approach to protect, grow and innovate WA’s economy, community and environment.

There is currently one (1) permanent full-time position available for immediate filling. 

We are looking to for an experienced beef development officer to join our growing Northern Beef Development branch. The ideal candidate will have a deep passion for the Northern Beef industry. In this role, you will regularly engage with stakeholders, agri industry groups, pastoralists, other agricultural research and development organisations and agribusinesses to support and drive a sustainable Northern Cattle industry in our amazing state of Western Australia (WA). You will also have people management responsibility for some staff.

WA’s North features the most extraordinary sceneries from rugged mountain ranges to the pristine coastal waters of Ningaloo Reef and fabulous fishing locations. Visit the Karijini National Park and Millstream -Chichester National Park as they offer incredible natural formations that need to be seen to believed one being Python Pool.

This role, whilst will be based in the North of WA, is flexible, with allowances and entitlements that DPIRD offers to anyone working in a Northern regional location. These may include access to GROH housing, district allowance, air conditioning subsidy, remote area travel allowance, and additional one-week annual leave (pro-rata) are just a few examples.
