About the Role
An exciting Employee Relations Advisor position has become available within the Human Resources Directorate. You will be responsible for providing an Employee Relations (ER) and Industrial Relations (IR) advisory service to managers and employees to resolve complex workplace matters. This includes:
- Performing research, analysis and providing time sensitive advice to management and employees.
- Participating in negotiations with unions and employees on workplace and industrial relations matters and assisting in negotiations of Main Roads industrial instruments.
- Case managing employee relations matters including discipline, health management and performance management, while ensuring procedural fairness for parties involved.
- Preparing high quality written material including the development of guidelines, documents, and templates to assist managers in dealing with ER & IR issues and problems.
- Effectively interacting, building and maintaining relationships with senior management and other key stakeholders.
About You
You will have considerable skill, knowledge, and experience in Employee Relations and/or Industrial Relations with a focus on problem solving and delivering outcomes in a large and complex organisation.
Your ability to research, analyse and provide advice to management, employees and unions, including in conflict situations matters, will be critical to your success in this role.
Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively interact, build and maintain relationships with senior management and other key stakeholders, are essential.
