About the role
The Rehabilitation and Reintegration branch (R&R) is responsible for offender rehabilitation programs and interventions with the aim of improving offenders’ lives and reducing the likelihood of further re-offending. This includes ensuring appropriate assessment and case management practice is in place that enables offenders to acquire relevant employment and education skills, ensuring re-integrative needs are assessed and that preventive programs and services are delivered.
The position provides support to the coordination of contracted Family and Domestic Violence Programs delivered in the community. The role provides Culturally safe and competent clinical supervision, resolves/addresses complex clinical issues and supervises a team of Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal Senior Programs Officers and Programs Officers in delivering Aboriginal Family Violence Programs. This includes assessment, treatment, group delivery and report preparation and conducts assessment and treatment of complex cases. The role supports the risk management of Family and Domestic Violence offenders within the community, liaising with Adult Community Corrections officers and with the Family and Domestic Violence Consultant, prioritising the safety and wellbeing of victim/survivors, children and families.
The position will provide supervision to Program Delivery Officers and Cognitive Skills Coordinators in the delivery of psycho education programs within prison and community. This includes assessment, treatment, group delivery and report preparation.
Eligibility
An accredited qualification in Psychology and general registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or an approved Social Work qualification and full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
Possession of a current valid ‘C’ class motor vehicle driving licence.
To be eligible for a permanent appointment to the Western Australian public sector it is essential that you are an Australian citizen or have permanent residency status in Australia. To be eligible for a fixed term appointment you must have documentary evidence of your entitlement to live and work in Australia for the duration of the contract.
