The new Forrestfield-Airport Link railway achieved a Leading rating by the Infrastructure Sustainability Council (ISC), setting a high standard for sustainability.
To support the next infrastructure growth phase, we are seeking Expressions of Interest from individuals who can undertake the duties of integral positions in the Office of Major Transport Infrastructure Delivery Division (OMTID).
METRONET Delivery Projects
You will be working in the Division responsible for delivering the high value and high complexity major transport projects. As one of the largest single investments in public transport the city has seen, METRONET will help positively change how people live and travel in Perth.
The METRONET projects will be delivered over various timeframes up to 2025 and include:
- Thornlie-Cockburn Link. Perth’s first east-west cross line connection, making travel around the city by train more flexible and providing a higher level of public transport service to Perth’s southern suburbs.
- Yanchep Rail Extension. Extending the Joondalup Line 14.5km north to Yanchep.
- New Bayswater Station. This will become a key METRONET precinct giving people the option to travel to the Airport, Swan Valley tourist region, the CBD and beyond.
- Morley-Ellenbrook Line. The 21km line will give people living and working in Perth’s north-eastern suburbs more transport choice.
- Byford Rail Extension. Extending the Armadale Line to Byford. The project will further help improve traffic flow by reconfiguring Thomas Road into a road-over-rail bridge.
- Victoria Park – Canning Level Crossing Removal. This project is Perth’s first major elevated rail designed to improve public transport safety, create new and versatile public open space for the community and reduce traffic congestion.

Further Information
Positions are offered on a full-time basis for periods of up to 3 years duration, with the possibility of extension and/or permanency. Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool for 12 months from which fixed term appointments up to 3 years with the possibility of extensions and/or permanency may be made. The PTA will undertake an executive search process in conjunction with advertising as part of this recruitment process. Interviews will be progressively conducted, and applicants will be updated during the process.
