About the opportunity
This is an exciting new opportunity to lead the coordinated response to the increased threat of Lumpy Skin (LSD) and Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) in the north of Western Australia (WA). You will work closely with local livestock industry stakeholders to help with mitigation strategies and programs against incursion of emergency animal diseases (EADs) that put the cattle industry in the regions of WA at risk. Working as part of the Animal Biosecurity and Welfare team you will collaborate with industry stakeholders and industry and government project team members from WA, Northern Territory and Queensland to increase northern Australia’s capability and capacity to prevent, prepare and respond to emergency animal diseases, such as LSD and FMD.
There is currently one (1) fixed-term position available for immediate filling.
We are looking for individuals with:
- substantial experience delivering within a complex project management environment, as well as the ability to manage and coordinate cross team relationships.
- knowledge and experience undertaking project work on animal biosecurity and emergency animal disease preparedness.
- knowledge and experience with the cattle industry and stakeholders throughout the beef supply chain.
- a high level of motivation, excellent team leadership skills and exceptional interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
