This is a nine (9) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 2, 2023 with possible extension (12 months) and/or permanency
Hampton Senior High School (SHS) is looking to appoint a knowledgeable and dedicated Teacher – Information Technology to join the school’s friendly teaching team.
The successful applicant should ideally exhibit a commitment to excellence and use a range of engaging and effective pedagogies. They should possess the ability to establish and maintain positive classroom learning relationships while striving for excellence as well as being flexible and adaptive to apply the strategies of differentiated instruction and explicit teaching. They will ideally be experienced in teaching Information Technology with interest and/or experience in Business Teaching also being desirable as the position may encompass elements from this area. Also desirable is the qualification to deliver certificate qualifications or a willingness to complete the appropriate credentials in this area.
The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting the collaborative approach to curriculum planning, providing learning programs to students suited to the needs of the school community and you should model exemplary teaching and learning strategies in your delivery. The Specialist Program in Digital Technologies at Hampton SHS is highly regarded in the community, therefore the successful applicant will ideally possess a repertoire of teaching strategies to engage students, ideally having knowledge of and experience in, a range of instructional strategies and tactics.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
