Appointment Pool
Dalkeith Primary School (PS) are seeking to establish a pool of enthusiastic and motivated Technical Support Officers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2023 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2023 school year.
As a Technical Support Officer at Dalkeith PS, you will be an integral part of our support and administration team.
Suitable applicants will ideally have highly developed skills and experience in information technology and will be able to support staff, students, and parents on software applications. The suitable applicant will ideally actively contribute and support a collaborative team approach to develop a solution focused approach.
Suitable applicants should be able to work alongside members of the administration team to assist in maintaining Information Technology (IT) systems and equipment in the school. The ability to troubleshoot and problem solve IT issues, as well as experience in installing and upgrading IT systems is highly desirable.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a willingness to liaise with colleagues, parents, and external providers, is also highly regarded. Suitable applicants should be relationship focused with a consistent and approachable manner. You should be enthusiastic, seek opportunities for innovation and change if you see the need, and communicate your ideas and suggestions to the administration team. You should have the proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with staff at all levels.
- Conceptual and analytical skills, including the ability to develop innovative solutions to information technology problems.
- Ability to install and maintain network systems incorporating the Internet and Electronic Mail.
- Organisational skills to develop effective administrative practices and the initiative to work with minimum supervision.

ELIGIBILITY AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Employees will be required to:
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
- Complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course; and
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
