About Us
As the principal economic and financial advisor, we influence outcomes for the benefit of Western Australians and help build a diverse, inclusive, and resilient economy.
Treasury is the central department managing Western Australia’s public sector finances and formulating and implementing the annual State Budget. We develop economic and revenue forecasts, and monitor developments in the State’s economy, major revenue bases and public sector finances, to ensure Western Australia remains on track against the State Government’s budgetary objectives and targets.
Our policy advisory role covers a wide range of issues, including Commonwealth-State financial relations, revenue policy, public sector wages policy, public sector superannuation policy, advice on alternative models of service delivery and infrastructure provision, and advice on a range of policy issues with significant economic impacts.
About the Treasury Talent Hub
The Hub has been established to continue to meet our objectives for high priority, urgent projects and attracting emerging skillsets to deliver new priorities.
The Hub is open to all applicants interested in joining the Department of Treasury and being part of the big picture for WA. Your application will remain active in the database, on-going and regular communication will be made with all applicants who are registered. You may be contacted if your skills closely align to those needed by the agency, and as the need arises.
The types of vacancies that may arise include:
- Short Term Contracts – fixed term employment (paid) under twelve months;
- Post Graduate Work Placements – for specific projects associated with a relevant degree (unpaid);
- Work Experience – paid or unpaid; or
- Secondment/ Placement or Transfer opportunities at Level (if current public sector officer).
Both part-time and full-time options are available for all of these.
To be considered you must:
- be motivated to be at the centre of Government decision-making with Treasury, be values aligned and meet the level requirements of Treasury’s Capability Framework;
- submit a comprehensive CV that clearly outlines your transferable skills and experience and highlights your past key achievements (in Word or PDF format); and
- nominate two referees (preferably recent supervisors) who can comment on your skills, abilities, depth of experience and work performance. Referees will often be required to return completed reports quickly, therefore it is important to keep your referees aware that they may be contacted.
This register will be used to identify suitable applicants for short term, fixed-term positions, secondments, or transfer opportunities (for officers already employed in the public sector), that may arise within Treasury from receipt of application and that do not exceed 12 months in duration. Vacancies may arise at any level across the Department ranging from Level 3 to Level 8.
The assessment of applicants for these vacancies will be based on the skills, knowledge and experience as outlined in the curriculum vitae (CV) provided and in relation to the particular vacancy requiring filling. You will be contacted by phone or email if a suitable vacancy becomes available.
