JOB DESCRIPTION: 

Applications are sought for the part time (25 hour per week) permanent position of Library Media Officer with the Parliamentary Library team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a dynamic organisation with generous employment conditions.

The Parliamentary Library and Information Services functions as a central point in the collection, documentation, coordination and dissemination of multimedia information required by members of Parliament, their staff and the staff of the Departments of Parliament.

As Library Media Officer you will be responsible for the timely provision of media services via an online portal. Flexibility, adaptability, and a keen eye for attention to detail are attributes we are looking for. We also require the successful applicant to be able to work in a high pressure and dynamic environment, with an ability to multi-task across a range of media and library duties.


SELECTION CRITERIA: 

The successful applicant will need to meet the following selection criteria.

Essential

  1. Diploma of Library and Information Services or an equivalent qualification in an Information management discipline.
  2. Demonstrated ability and experience in working in a library environment.
  3. Demonstrated experience in providing library technical and collection processing support, including high level indexing.
  4. Demonstrated experience working with a range of technology and digital programs.
  5. Demonstrated experience in providing media support services.
  6. Excellent keyboard skills, including speed and accuracy.
  7. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.


Desirable

  1. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  2. Demonstrated ability to plan and manage time and tasks.
  3. Demonstrated ability to adapt and respond to a changing environment.
