Capital Works and Maintenance is seeking two (2) enthusiastic Senior Project Officers to join their friendly team.

We currently have the following positions available:

  •  2x – permanent full-time positions

Both positions will commence ASAP

The Role and our Branch

The Capital Works and Maintenance branch is seeking highly motivated, dedicated and organised individuals to join their team as Senior Project Officers.

We encourage all applicants with diverse professional experiences to apply.

This role will manage the coordination, planning, design and development of capital works projects. You will provide advice and support services to schools ensuring building and related needs are identified and also ensuring that projects and programs meet the Department’s standards.

You will ideally have skills and experience in project management as well as a good understanding of infrastructure facilities, particularly in relation to needs assessment and the development and implementation of key projects.

  1. Demonstrated substantial skills and experience in project management, including the ability to deliver agreed outcomes within specified timeframes.

  3. Demonstrated highly developed conceptual and analytical skills, including the ability to provide innovative input into strategic planning and the development and implementation of key projects and policies.

Employees will be required to:

  • complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course
  • complete
    • the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
    • training specific to this role required by Department policy; and
    • the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
