Dryandra Primary School (PS) is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Primary Science Teacher to join their friendly team.
The successful applicant will ideally be a Primary Science teacher who builds trust-filled, quality relationships with students, parents, and staff. You will ideally have strong knowledge and application of the Western Australia Science Curriculum. You will foster student curiosity and inspire a love of Science from Kindergarten to Year 6.
Key to this role, is to have strong application of creative and critical thinking with an investigation-based teaching and learning and possess strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills to work successfully with students across Kindergarten to Year 6, parents and colleagues. The ability to work in a team and collaborate effectively to meet the needs of students and whole school improvement with strong Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) skills to support student learning is highly valued.
You will ideally have strong behaviour support skills to support students with behaviour issues and be proactive in using school Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) strategies and effectively differentiate the curriculum to support Students at Educational Risk and Special Needs students. The ability to implement effective documented plans to support students’ learning and to report on student outcomes using Special Educational Needs (SEN) planning and reporting tools is highly desirable.
The ability to use data to inform your teaching in order to maximise individual student progress and the ability to adapt teaching and provide high quality and engaging teaching to suit the developmental needs of students is highly valued.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
