Miling Primary School (PS) is seeking an exceptional educator who possesses outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, who pursues excellence in teaching, has high expectations, and truly believes that all children can learn and be successful.
The successful applicant will have effectively displayed their ability in implementing the Western Australian Curriculum in years 3-6 and will eagerly take on the challenges of a multi-age classroom through the implementation of a diverse and engaging curriculum for our students. They will possess exceptional communication and collaborative skills in order to build positive and productive relationships with students, staff and families. The successful applicant will ideally be committed to ongoing professional growth and development, support current whole school processes and be a collegial, effective collaborator.
Miling PS is an Independent Public School that caters for children from Kindergarten to Year Six. It is located within the Wheatbelt region, 40km from Moora and 219km from Perth, with the majority of our students coming from the surrounding farms.
Our teachers and education assistants provide engaging lessons that offer a wide range of learning experiences that cater for our multi-age classrooms and various learning styles. Our school offers a range of programs to enhance student learning with a particular focus on literacy and numeracy. Our students are our main priority and delivering an environment of High Performance and High Care is always at the forefront of what we do.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
