The roles provide exciting opportunities to contribute to the planning, construction and operation of public transport infrastructure and services and to support our construction and operational teams to comply with our environmental and Aboriginal heritage obligations and commitments. 

We have two roles within our Environmental Services Branch and two roles within the Office of Major Transport Infrastructure Delivery (OMTID). OMTID is delivering METRONET projects including the Thornlie Cockburn Link, Yanchep Rail Extension, Morley Ellenbrook Line, Byford Rail Extension and Inner Armadale Level Crossing Removal.

To be successful in the roles you must understand environmental legislation and its application and have experience with a broad range of environmental issues.  As a tertiary qualified environmental professional you will exhibit the following attributes:

  • An ability to develop rapport and build working relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
  • An ability to work effectively in a team environment; and
  • Conceptual, analytical, research and evaluation skills, including the ability to analyse information and data.

The core duties and responsibilities of the roles, including the special requirements relevant to appointment, are described in the Job Description Forms (JDFs).

All roles are offered on a fixed term basis until June 2025 with the possibility of extension and/or permanency. This recruitment process will initially be used to fill the above vacancies. Applicants assessed as suitable may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur for up to 12 months.

The Public Transport Authority of Western Australia (PTA) is responsible for the operation of all bus, train and ferry public transport services in the greater metropolitan area under the Transperth brand. It also operates public transport services in regional centres, operates road coach and rail passenger services to regional area under the Transwa brand, and administers School Bus Services (SBS).
