The Role

Want to be part of an exciting and collaborative team delivering the METRONET Railcar Procurement Project?   We are seeking an experienced Commercial and Controls Manager with specialist skills to provide advice and support to the Project Director, to provide strategic advice with respect to contract risks, and to monitor contract progress from a commercial perspective.  The incumbent will ensure that the contract management and administration as well as project controls functions are performed consistently and effectively in accordance with the PTA’s requirements.  The winning candidate will also lead and manage the assessment and review of contract performance and provide detailed analysis as well as report on key performance indicators to assist in making informed decisions on acceptance of a recommendations and conditions.

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A relevant qualification and/or extensive knowledge and experience in the management of complex fleet acquisition projects including the management of delivery, integration and maintenance phases.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing strategic advice and leadership for commercial and business priorities relevant to the delivery of railway infrastructure and fleet management.
  • A thorough knowledge of the practice of project and contract management, including the capacity to understand financial, legal and probity issues related to both rollingstock and infrastructure aspects of project delivery.
  • Highly developed leadership and management skills with a focus on providing sound strategic direction and support to achieve outcomes.

This is a 2 year fixed term opportunity with possibility of extensions and/or permanency.
