This position is a fixed term full-time opportunity for a period of Eight (8) months with the possibility of extensions and/or permanency.
This selection process may be used to fill other similar at level vacancies that arise within twelve (12) months. Applicants deemed suitable but not recommended may be considered for those roles.

About the Role
Working within the dynamic and busy Community Preparedness team, the successful applicant will use an evidence-based approach to manage the development of state-wide community engagement and communication initiatives and resources to support communities to become more resilient. The successful applicant will also be responsible for coordinating hard copy resources and online platforms and liaising closely with our Media and Corporate Communications teams.
This position will also work closely with a diverse group of stakeholders including state and local government, community organisations and volunteers.

Employment Conditions and Additional Information
DFES is an emergency services organisation and all employees may be required to work or travel outside of normal business hours to assist with emergencies.
Employees in this position are required to be available and willing to work flexible hours at times outside normal office hours including weekends and public holidays.
Employees in this position will be required to undertake regular intrastate travel (by air and/or road).

Eligibility To Apply
You must be an Australian Citizen or hold permanent residency to be considered for permanent appointments or hold a working visa covering the term of the contract (proof must be provided with your application) to be eligible for this position.
National Police Certificate
A condition of employment for new employees of DFES is that a current National Police Certificate (less than 3 months old) is provided prior to commencement.
