High Wycombe Primary School (PS) aims to provide a happy, safe and stimulating environment sensitive to the needs of all. Every student is encouraged to be the best person they can be. The school is seeking to employ a Physical Education specialist who is flexible to support as required across the school. This may include teaching other learning areas in classrooms and providing support in intervention programs to support children with challenging behaviours. High Wycombe PS commenced as a Western Australian Positive Behaviour Support (WAPBS) school in 2021. Therefore, the ideal applicant should have knowledge and practical experience in WAPBS at a whole school level. The successful applicant will ideally be committed to our work in strengthening our instructional practice through further development of our explicit teaching model and whole school approaches. Staff are supported and equipped within a collaborative environment to work towards teaching and learning excellence and are expected to follow the school’s expectations to a high standard.
A sound knowledge of evidence-based approaches is highly desirable. The successful applicant should be self-motivated, prepared to enthusiastically embrace new opportunities and work proactively towards achieving successful outcomes for all students.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- Complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
