Fremantle Hospital is a 300-bed specialist hospital focused on providing high-quality aged care, mental health, secondary rehabilitation, planned surgeries and medical services.

Currently we are seeking an Allied Health Assistant - Occupational Therapy to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. You will be assisting with planning and implementing individual and group recovery programs for clients within the acute and/or community setting under the direction and supervision of the Occupational Therapist or delegate. You will be undertaking duties in accordance with South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS) policies and guidelines to ensure client safety and quality of care.

Are you eligible? To be eligible for a permanent appointment to the Western Australian public sector is essential that you are an Australian citizen or have permanent residency status in Australia. To be eligible for a fixed term appointment you must have documentary evidence of your entitlement to live and work in Australia for the period of the contract.

This is a recruitment pool for permanent full-time, permanent part-time, fixed term full-time, fixed term part-time, and casual appointments, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

We have vacancies available immediately for one (1) permanent full-time position, however hours may be negotiable. 

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 28/02/2023. 

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of six (6) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
