What will your typical day look like?

This is an amazing opportunity for you to contribute to the thriving agricultural economy in Carnarvon, and establish relationships with the locals and our Horticulture and Irrigated Agriculture team.

You will be engaging with growers to assist the development of farm and land management plans as well as extension and education to introduce practices that balance productive horticulture with protection and enhancement of the natural resources and reduce soil loss on horticultural properties of this amazing region.

Highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders will be crucial to influence the understanding and adoption of management strategies to mitigate the impact of flood events that occur from time to time in this region.

You will be working from the DPIRD Carnarvon Research Station located in the centre of the horticulture district with a diverse team who work in land management, horticulture research, fisheries, and Aboriginal economic development.

A degree in Agriculture Science or Natural Resource Management or an approved equivalent will be highly advantageous.
