The Role

The TTO branch is responsible for the safe and efficient operations of the rail network across the metropolitan area.  This includes the operation, security, railcar maintenance and management of the urban rail passenger system. 

We are currently looking for experienced rostering officers with strong Excel and communication skills to maintain and manage the rosters for a range of security staff for the TTO Division. These include Transit Officers, Central Monitoring Room Operators and Equipment Officers.

The Level 3 Roster Clerk is a coordination role, creating rosters and managing annual leave swaps and coordinating last minute leave bookings.  You will need experience in preparing timesheets and developing staff rosters for large groups as well as the ability to interpret and apply relevant industrial agreements, particularly around the varied working conditions.  An understanding of payroll processes will be beneficial.

This job is  not for the faint hearted.  You will be expected to work hard and in line with the PTA’s Core Values.  We are looking for people who are fair and open as well as demonstrate your ability to work well within a team and complement our team dynamics.

The Rostering Office is a complex environment dealing a number of different Agreements and personnel.  It can be a very demanding environment so you will need to be switched on and have confidence in your abilities. You will also need strong communication skills and a level of diplomacy to speak with confidence and respect with the Transit Officers and the like.  Your experience in managing conflict will also benefit you in these roles. 

Pool

This is a pool recruitment process where suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made within the next 12 months.  Offers may be made on a permanent or fixed term basis with possible extensions and/or permanency.

There is currently one permanent Level 3 position available for filling on a full time basis.
