Appointment Pool

Deanmore Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Primary Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise from Term 3, 2022, and up to the end of Term 2, 2023. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements from Term 3, 2022, and up to the end of Term 2, 2023

Suitable applicants will ideally possess knowledge of Explicit Instruction and meet Team Deanmore - Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) - expectations. We are seeking applicants who are ideally motivated, innovative, and possess high quality teaching skills. They will also ideally be committed to ongoing professional growth and development, support current whole-school processes, and participate in whole school collaborative planning. We value reflective practice and suitable applicants will engage in ongoing coaching, feedback, and observations based on the gradual release model. Suitable applicants will support the provision of structured opportunity to explore, create and investigate though play.

Suitable applicants will ideally have excellent interpersonal skills, the capacity to work as part of an effective team, and be willing to engage in whole school planning. We have a strong team approach and value collective genius. We seek teachers with the ability to inspire students to develop an enthusiasm for learning in vibrant, engaging, and supportive classrooms, and who foster relationship-based pedagogy. You will have an ability to build effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community. You should possess a strong capacity to plan, present and assess challenging and engaging programs and have a sound understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum.

Deanmore PS caters for approximately 500 students, from Kindergarten to Year 6. Specialist programs at our school include science, design, music, LOTE (Chinese) and physical education which are taught by specialist teachers. School buildings are modern and well resourced. The school grounds are attractive with a range of challenging playground equipment.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

  • Professional knowledge;
  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.

  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
