The COVID-19 Communications team is seeking two highly skilled and motivated individuals who would like to collaborate on the planning, growth, engagement and community management of WA state government social media channels. If you would like to join our social media team, we want to hear from you!
There are currently two (2) fixed term positions available for immediate filling until 30 June 2023 with the possibility of extension.
Suitable applicants from this process will be placed in a pool from which temporary and/or permanent appointments may be made. The pool will operate for a period of 12 months from the date that the recruitment breach period has been finalised.

The COVID-19 Communications Team supports the WA Government in the development and delivery of strategic communications for emergency response, recovery and other key government priorities. The unit coordinates whole-of-government communications across multiple channels. This unit operates in a fast-paced, flexible and responsive environment that needs to adapt to rapid changes whilst dealing with competing deadlines.
About the Roles
The Social Media Officer position helps produce clear and creative content that engages our audiences on social media channels. This role is for a creative team player who loves to write, produce creative content and thrives in serving the public via social media communications.
The Social Media Coordinator position supervises the social media team to produce clear and creative content for social media that engages whilst actively liaising with all stakeholders internally and externally to achieve agreed measurable objectives.
