We are the Regional Hospital for the Kimberley, comprising of an Emergency Department, Outpatient Department, consulting rooms for salaried and visiting Medical Specialists, Operating Theatre with a 6 bed Same Day Surgical Unit, Medical Surgical Ward, Paediatric unit, Level 2 Nursery, Maternity unit, offering a Midwifery Group Practice service. Medical Support includes Pharmacy, Medical Imaging Physiotherapy, Speech Pathology and Occupational Therapy. We currently have the following opportunities available:
The Opportunity
We are seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced Medical Imaging Professional to join our Medical Imaging team. As our new Sonographer/Medical Imaging Technologist (Level 2) you will be responsible for Diagnostic and Medical Imaging Procedures and assists in the supervision and training of Medical Imaging Technologist students and trainee Sonographers. This position is vital to the provision of Medical Imaging services to our Health Campus.
This selection process will initially be used to fill other "similar" vacancies for appointment (permanent, fixed term, full-time) with the possibility of extension for the next twelve (12) months.

Eligibility
Successful applicants will be required to:
- Possess a tertiary Qualification in Medical Imaging and eligible for registration with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia and licencing with the Radiological Council of WA. An ASAR accredited qualification in sonography and listed on the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR) as an accredited medical sonographer in the relevant field.
- Provide evidence of their Australian citizenship or permanent residency to be considered for a permanent position in the WA public sector.
- Undertake a criminal records screening and integrity checks; this may also include referees commenting on your integrity and past demonstration of ethical behaviour.
- Completion of a satisfactory Pre-Employment Health Assessment (PEHA).
- All WA health system employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (including the booster vaccination when they are eligible) in order to access health care facilities, pursuant to the Health Worker (Restrictions on Access) Directions(HWD) (or its replacement), COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination and Vaccination Program Policy, and the Booster Vaccination (Restriction on Access) Directions (no 2) (or its replacement) (BVD), unless the employee is exempt pursuant to the HWD and/or BVD.
