Technical and Multimedia Officer
We currently have one part-time permanent vacancy at 0.4 FTE (30 hours per fortnight) which will be required to work weekends and will be subject to the applicable penalty rates.
A Pool will also be running for a period of 24 months.

About the role
The purpose of this position is to provide specialist technical services including supervising the installation, operation, maintenance, and development of technical infrastructure to facilitate the delivery of digital media experiences in the WA Museum exhibitions, galleries and public spaces.
About you

The successful applicant will be expected to:
- Schedule, supervise and complete planned audio-visual and digital media systems maintenance duties ensuring that they are performed to a high standard, documented and reported on.
- Perform trouble shooting and repairs on installed digital media equipment requiring a high level of technical expertise.
- Undertake and oversee installation of digital media systems in exhibitions and public spaces being accountable for quality of work.
- Participate in the planning of digital media exhibits, presentation spaces and refurbishments, leading project teams and overseeing installation.
- Use expert knowledge in the field of audio-visual and exhibition multimedia to convey concepts and original ideas to museum colleagues, suppliers and external stakeholders.
- Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and standards and research new technologies to support the objectives of the Department.

Eligibility to Apply
To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments) at the time of application.
A current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate will be required prior to commencement of employment, as per the Department’s Police Record Screening Policy.

Pool Recruitment
This pool will be open for a period of 24 months from the day after the breach of standard claim period closes. Permanent/Fixed Term Part-Time and Casual appointments may be offered as vacancies arise; however, an appointment is not guaranteed.
Applicants found suitable in this pool, may be considered for subsequent, similar vacancies with the WA Museum for the duration of the pool.
