A vacancy exists in the position of Prevention and Diversion Officer at Metropolitan Youth Bail Service.
The Metropolitan Youth Bail Service is a specialised business unit within the Youth Justice Directorate focusing on prevention and diversion and advocacy within the Children’s Court; with a primary role to reduce young people entering custody, monitoring and facilitating bail placements. The role is diverse; you will have periods working within the office environment, in the community, in the Children’s Court and in Banksia Hill Detention Centre.
The Metropolitan Youth Bail Service is open from Monday to Thursday 8am to 8pm; Friday to Saturday, 8am to 11pm and Sunday 8am to 5:30pm. Shift work is applicable to the role, however the shifts are very manageable, with 3 days off during most working weeks and shift work allowances.

- As the role requires transporting young people and conducting home visits in Departmental vehicles, a current C Class Drivers License is required.

Pool Recruitment
This pool will be open for a period of 24 months from the day after the breach of standard claim period closes. Permanent, fixed term, full time and part time appointments may be offered as vacancies arise, however an appointment is not guaranteed.
