The Opportunity
The Web Developer works as a member of the Training Sector Services team to create and maintain websites for the Department of Training and Workforce Development.
Selection Criteria
Essential
- Demonstrated high-level proficiency with industry-standard web development tools.
- Demonstrated high-level proficiency with web-based languages such as HTML5, CSS including pre-processors SASS and/or LESS and JavaScript including jQuery and other JavaScript libraries.
- Demonstrated ability in developing and debugging websites for cross browser (including legacy versions), cross platform and device independent use, with knowledge and understanding of web accessibility WCAG 2.0 level AA standards and legislation.
- Demonstrated high level experience in developing within the Drupal framework including using PHP and TWIG to customise themes, modules and templates to achieve desired outcomes.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to deal effectively with clients and individuals at all levels.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Contributes to a team that designs and develops websites for the Department or Training and Workforce Development.
- Collaborates with project staff to determine the most appropriate development model and method for delivery of online content.
- Tests developed materials using industry standard debugging tools and methods.
- Contributes to improvements in development within the Drupal framework as applied to Department websites and preparation of development documentation including user guides for external content editors.
- Disseminates advice and information on development methods and limitations to client groups to ensure appropriate standards are adhered to.
- Preparation of templates within the Drupal framework that conform to standard development requirements and employment of the internet for research with regard to design and development.
