Exceptional leadership opportunity to join the Department of the Premier and Cabinet and help shape the State’s coordination of the COVID-19 response!

There is currently one (1) fixed term position available for immediate filling on a SES contract for a period of up to 2 years.

Suitable applicants from this process will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made. The pool will operate for a period of 12 months from the date that the recruitment breach period has been finalised.

About the opportunity:

At the centre of the Western Australian public sector and supporting the State’s pandemic coordination and response, the Department is a dynamic and agile organisation looking for those who can deliver results and collaborate effectively with others.

The COVID-19 Coordination and Community Policy branch supports the Premier, Cabinet and State Recovery Controller in leading Western Australia’s pandemic response, to contain the spread of COVID-19 and ensure a safe environment for Western Australians to carry out economic and social activity. The branch also strategically coordinates across agencies to develop and support the implementation of community policies and to ensure that the State’s recovery is inclusive and responds to the needs of all members of the community, particularly the most vulnerable.

We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to be responsible for the effective development and delivery of policy responses to support the State in managing the COVID pandemic and advancing an inclusive recovery.

The Deputy Director is expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering high quality, informed and timely advice through collaboration with their respective teams; build effective working relationships with key stakeholders; support the development of their respective teams; and respond with agility to an ever-evolving environment.
