We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated and experienced professional to fill a newly created Level 5 Training Coordinator position in our fast-paced Public Information Branch.
This position is a fixed term full-time opportunity for a period of twelve (12) months with the possibility of extensions and/or permanency.
This selection process may be used to fill other similar at level vacancies that arise within twelve (12) months. Applicants deemed suitable but not recommended may be considered for those roles.

ABOUT THE ROLE
In an emergency, the provision of timely and accurate public information to impacted communities is critical to ensuring their safety.
To ensure our specialist public information teams are well trained and supported, we’re looking for an energetic training professional with experience in developing training plans, programs and products.
This position is responsible for developing and delivering public information training initiatives to a diverse range of personnel and volunteers within DFES and across the emergency services sector.
To be successful in this role you will be community-minded with a passion for training and the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
You will be a dynamic team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can confidently deliver training in a range of formats, including in-person and online, in a creative and innovative way.

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
DFES is an emergency services organisation and all employees may be required to work or travel outside of normal business hours to assist with emergencies.
This role is required to participate on an on-call roster, including some weekend work, and may be required to travel regionally by road and/or air in response to incidents or other business requirements.
COVID-19 ADVICE
To be considered for employment with the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES), applicants must be fully vaccinated unless a medical exemption has been provided by the Chief Health Officer.
From 4 January 2022, Western Australians who are 18 years and older and have received their second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine more than four months ago, are now eligible to receive a booster dose.
What does this mean for me?
- If you were eligible for a booster before 4 January 2022, you have until 5 February 2022 to receive the dose and provide evidence.
- If you become eligible for a booster after 4 January 2022, you have one calendar month from when you became eligible to receive the dose and provide evidence.
You can calculate your eligibility date via www.rollup.wa.gov.au or check your immunisation record or COVID-19 vaccination certificate for the date of your second vaccination dose.
Applicants will be required to provide evidence that they can meet these requirements prior to attending any DFES worksites and appointments to positions. ELIGIBILITY TO APPLY
