South Regional TAFE delivers a wide range of nationally recognised programs throughout the Great Southern and South West regions of Western Australia. The college delivers courses on site, online and in the workplace, and operates 12 campuses from Bunbury to Esperance and from Albany to Narrogin.

About the role
The Training Transition Consultant participates in the identification of future workforce requirements and the implementation of related training opportunities to support the future employment of workers impacted by workforce transitions. The position, through a client-centred approach will work with employers, employees, and training organisations to provide leadership and practical assistance to enable employees to make individual, tailored transitions.

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  1. Demonstrated program and client management experience within a training environment to develop and deliver project outcomes.
  2. Demonstrated understanding of contemporary workforce, employment and training issues and trends.
  3. Highly developed conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to provide strategic solutions.
  4. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate and liaise with diverse stakeholders.
  5. Sound negotiation skills and an ability to influence people in the achievement of objectives.

The WA Government mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy includes occupations in TAFE colleges as critical to the ongoing delivery of critical services to the community. You are required to provide evidence that you have had your first COVID-19 vaccination by 31 December 2021 and are fully vaccinated by 31 January 2022.

Eligibility for employment is subject to obtaining a satisfactory Department of Education Criminal Clearance. If this position involves contact with children, the recommended occupant will also be required to obtain a Working with Children (WWC) Card.

To be eligible for appointment applicants must have a working visa (for fixed term contract appointments) or permanent residency (for permanent appointments).

This selection process may be used to identify suitable applicants for similar vacancies that arise within the next twelve months.

Should no suitable applicant be identified, or an offer declined, the panel may search for further applicants beyond the closing date.

SR TAFE has a shutdown period of up to 12 working days over Christmas/New Year. Arrangements for paid leave in advance or leave without pay during the shutdown period will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
