JOB DESCRIPTION: 

This role provides support to the Property Management and Leasing Officer. A key component of the role involves the provision of support in the coordination and maintenance of the portfolio of National Trust properties and the upkeep of residential and commercial leases. The role provides assistance to ensure effective day to day operations and workflow maintenance of finance and budegting reports,
 
Duties and Key Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for the operational property care and maintenance requirements of the National Trust's asset portfolio, including leased and non-leased places. gardens, equipment and machinery associated with the property portfolio and the coordination and maintenance of a regular property inspection programme;
2. Assists with insurance requirements (including claims, Certificates of Currency, questionnaires and assessments) associated with the property portfolio;
3. Maintains the properties issues register and associated risk management/occupational health and safety/security matters;
4. Assists with the development and management of budgets for property maintenance and conservation;
5. Assists and liaises with property volunteers, wardens, lessees, external property managers and the National Trust staff in relation to property care and maintenance issues;
6. Assists with purchasing and incurring requirements and the payment of invoices for property management;
7. Assists with National Trust activities at properties as required; and
8. Other duties as directed by the CEO.


SELECTION CRITERIA: 

Essential:

1. Demonstrated ability, experience and sound knowledge in property management;
2. Demonstrated ability to inspect properties for conditions defects, repairs and needs within accepted conservation practice;
3. Ability to manage issues register and monitor properties for risks and utilise risks management systems;
4. Sound knowledge of building construction, materials, equipment, plant and work practices;
5. Demonstrated ability to programme and plan cyclical maintenance systems;
6. Effective verbal and written skills;
7. Demonstrated information and technology skills including the use of MS Office Suite of software including Excel and Outlook;
8. Demonstrated financial management skills;
9. "C" Class Driver's Licence; and
10. National Police Clearance.

Desirable:

1. Ability to work independently and in a team environment, establishing priorities in line with strategic and operational management plans and initiatives;
2. Demonstrated experience working with heritage places; and
3. Demonstrated qualifications and/or experience in the related disciplines.


FOR FURTHER JOB RELATED INFORMATION: 

Following an intial 12 month fixed-term contract with a six month probationary period (with an interim three month review), subject to satisfactory performance and financial vaibility, a longer term extension may be offered. Permanency in the future will be considered subject to Clause 11 of the Premier's Circular 2018/02.
