The Role

In this position, you will provide specialist engineering support with respect to the acquisition, design, manufacturing, commissioning and maintenance of the PTA’s rollingstock and use engineering expertise to assist with the management of outsourced PTA Rollingstock consultancy services contracts. The role will assist in the development and implementation of Asset Management Plans for the PTA’s railcars, record and analyse performance and productivity data to progress continuous improvements and contribute to the development of the rollingstock assets to ensure safety, quality and reliability targets are met.

About you

Relevant Engineering Qualifications (preferably in mechanical or electrical engineering) as well as proven experience in rail safety is essential for the role.

To be effective and successful in this role, you will have demonstrated understanding and experience in contract and project management and sound leadership skills including the ability to provide clear advice, direction and appropriate feedback to multi-disciplinary project teams. Your ability to develop positive, proactive and professional relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders is also crucial to your success in this role.

There is currently one (1) full time fixed term position available until 1 March 2024 with the possibility of further extension(s) and/or permanency. Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to appoint to similar positions that may arise in the Agency within the next twelve (12) months.
