The Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen in the newly created position of Construction Surveillance Officer within our Network & Infrastructure Division.  Reporting to the Construction Manager, the winning candidate will perform inspections on site activities, conduct internal audits and will monitor, review and identify potential risks on safety management plans, and inspection and test plans.  The incumbent will undertake surveillance of contractor’s works, on and off site, to ensure compliance with contract conditions and specifications, public safety, rail safety and environmental standards on transport infrastructure projects.

To be successful in this position you will have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification OR extensive relevant experience;
  • Knowledge and experience of construction works, and maintenance of assets preferably in an operating electrified railway environment;
  • Good understanding of, and experience in, management of contractual/contractor relationships and obligations;
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise work carried out by others, including consultants and contractors.

There are two permanent appointments available for an immediate start.  Applicants must be in possession of a current WA ‘C’ or ‘C-A’ class Driver’s Licence or equivalent, and must have the ability to work outside normal working hours, including callouts.
