The Valuer-General is an independent statutory officer and is responsible for leading and directing the valuations system of WA.

About the role
As the Valuer-General, you will be responsible for delivering efficient and effective outcomes whilst ensuring the integrity of valuations under the Valuation of Land Act 1978.
As part of the statutory role, you will also be involved in the valuation of large state infrastructure projects, extensive stakeholder management and the delivery of significant outcomes for the State. In this role, you must be able to:
- Provide strategic leadership, coordination, and management for all processes under the Valuation of Land Act 1978 and other legislation as specified.
- Through monitoring and oversight of the system, ensure that valuations are fair, accurate and consistent for the Western Australian community, rating and taxing authorities and other information users.
- Provide strategic leadership to employees who assist the Valuer-General to deliver statutory functions.
- Provide strategic policy advice to the Chief Executive, Corporate Executive, and the Minister.
- Review and make recommendations for potential amendments to the Valuation of Land Act 1978.
- Provide detailed information, advice, and recommendations to the Chief Executive and General Manager as required.
- Provide advice to the Government in relation to options on current and emerging land valuation matters and the effective operation of the Valuations Land Act 1978.
- Work in collaboration with the General Manager of Valuation Services to formulate and execute strategic priorities for the business.
- Constructively engage with key stakeholders to provide advice and seek input regarding land valuation matters.
- Review, analyse, simplify, and establish consistent processes and practices across Valuation Services.
