Are you a Multi skilled and passionate Multi Instrumental Music Teacher looking for an opportunity in the Pilbara Region?
Karratha Senior High School is seeking to appoint a passionate and committed Music Teacher to join our friendly team.
Applicants with experience in teaching Classroom Music, Woodwind, Brass and Percussion are encouraged to apply. The successful applicant will ideally possess high levels of teaching and performance competence on multiple Instruments.
Applicants will ideally be able to show evidence of the following Professional knowledge:
- Improvisation in a variety of styles including in a soloist capacity.
- Sight reading appropriate to each instrument.
- Direction of concert band ensembles.
- Writing arrangements for ensembles that can include woodwind, brass, keyboards and other instruments.
- Assembling and operating PA systems and other equipment associated with ensembles
- A Cert IV TAE qualification in order to deliver Cert II Music is also highly desirable but not essential.

Candidates would embrace the opportunity to work in the Pilbara, in a thriving music community with a positive approach in a variety of school environments. You will be expected to teach to the WA Curriculum, the IMSS Instrumental Curriculum and conduct ensembles.
The successful applicant should be able to work independently, demonstrate a growth mindset, energy and passion for the subject and ideally be skilled at performance on Brass, Woodwind and Percussion instruments. We are seeking a teacher with excellent communication and ICT skills.
There is a particularly close collegial relationship amongst staff that allows for significant professional growth as a teacher and musician. A Cert IV qualification in order to deliver Cert II Music is also highly regarded.

Instrumental Music School Services delivers instrumental music teaching to public schools throughout the state of WA. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
