The Department of Communities brings together the services and functions of disability services, child protection and family support, housing, community initiatives and regional services reform.
The Opportunity
There is currently one [1] permanent full time position available for immediate filling.
The Team Leader Child Protection manages and supervises district team members in child protection case work matters and responds to complex concerns regarding the safety and wellbeing of children.
Key responsibilities of this role include:
- Supporting the team by managing resources, assigning tasks and ensuring equitable distribution of workloads.
- Supervising staff in relation to case work matters.
- Convening and chairing planning forums for children in the CEO’s care.
- Undertaking complex case work activities.
- Representing the Department at senior interagency forums in the region and maintaining stakeholder relationships.
- Regular travel to the Northern Goldfields and Ngaanyatjara Lands.
- We are looking for proactive, solution focussed individuals who possess high level casework practice skills and knowledge, sound leadership and supervisory capabilities and excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills.

Qualification Requirements
You cannot be considered for this position unless you have a completed university degree in:
- Bachelor of Social Work
- Bachelor of Psychology or
- relevant Human Services area.
NOTE: If you have a relevant Human Services qualification you will need to supply unit descriptions/summaries for assessment against the Qualifications Framework.
All overseas qualifications must be assessed for Australian equivalency. Each qualification must be assessed individually, and the assessment must confirm the equivalent Australian qualification level (i.e. equivalent to a Bachelors or Masters degree). This assessment can be conducted by Overseas Qualification Unit or AASW, and the outcome evidence provided at the time of applying.
