About the role
The Social Media Officer will execute departmental strategies through competitive research, messaging and audience identification by using the established social media channels to grow the Department’s social media presence.
The role is responsible for developing creative and engaging content and social media planning across all platforms, sometimes in the context of crisis communications. The role promotes the Department’s diverse range of services, increases web traffic and aligns customer engagement metrics with broader marketing strategies. The position will also create digital production functions, which includes graphic design, photography, videography and editing.
The role supports the wider media and communications team in disseminating information to the general public, staff and media via the department's social media channels.
The position manages day-to-day service delivery of the Department of Justice social media platforms, include monitoring, moderating and reporting on social media posts associated with the Department; supplying key stakeholders with an overview of trends, insights and statistics associated with the Department's social media performance.

Eligibility to Apply
- Applicants must have a current C or CA Class WA Drivers Licence.
- Ability to work offsite at department facilities, work outside normal working hours for monitoring and posting on the social media platforms and when deadlines are approaching.
About you
We are looking for a candidate who is innovative and creative with the ability to further develop our social media channels. The ideal candidate should demonstrate extensive knowledge and experience in working in social media marketing and as a digital media specialist, with social analytics knowledge.
All employees are required to undergo employment screening, which includes a National Criminal History Check and other checks that may be relevant to the position requirements.

Pool Recruitment
