Yerecoin Primary School (PS) is seeking a confident and flexible primary teacher to fill a fixed term vacancy. They use effective behaviour management strategies to establish and maintain an organised, orderly and learning focused classroom.
Teachers will need to be able to cater for a range of student abilities and ages in the one classroom, ensuring they maintain high academic standards, which is a hallmark of the school.
Our staff plan and implement engaging programs for students using current technologies including Interactive Panels, iPads, Laptops, Coding and Robotics. Experience and knowledge of Information Communication Technology (ICT) and IPads in a learning environment is a highly desirable skill for applicants. Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) implementation is encouraged and supported. Teachers will support the development of Science, Spelling, Writing, Numeracy and Philanthropy, which are core priorities of the school. Of utmost importance are the personal qualities you bring to the role. You must value developing positive relationships with students, families, colleagues, and the wider community. You should have a “can do” attitude and the ability to anticipate and adapt to change; showing initiative, flexibility and creative problem solving to produce the best opportunities for our students.
Yerecoin PS is a Level 3 school and is part of the Wheatbelt Education Region. The Staff are experienced and amiable and keen to work with a ‘like-minded’ person who shares their passion for providing quality public school education in a collaborative, nurturing environment, underpinned by clearly articulated values and with a focus on respectful practices. Applicants must be prepared to support the work of the wider school community. We are seeking a highly skilled teacher who demonstrates a high level of professionalism in their day to day conduct.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- Be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. (Applicants who require a Limited Registration to teach from the TRB are not eligible). TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
