Our role is to plan, build and maintain Western Australia’s State Road Network valued at just over $46 billion. We work closely with our portfolio partners, Department of Transport and Public Transport Authority as well as local government to support the needs of all road users across the state by providing an integrated world-class road transport network.

About the Role

The Drafting Officer is responsible for preparing technical drawings in accordance with Main Roads technical standards and guidelines and undertaking geometric road design and structural drafting and design activities for Main Roads projects.

The role will also be required to carry out review and audit road design, and review structural design drawings prepared by consultants.

Formally part of the Road and Traffic Engineering Branch, the Drafting Officer will be located in our Structures Engineering team, working under the Project Officer Structures.

About You

The successful candidate will have demonstrated skill and experience in preparing technical drawings in AutoCAD for road and/or structural designs.

As you will be providing technical support to a diverse range of people (including consultants), good interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as well as your ability to develop and enhance strong working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
